one thousand years ago, trees were cultivated in trays, wooden containers and
trained in naturalistic shapes. bonsai, however, has been pursued and developed
primarily by the Japanese
They are dwarfed by a system of pruning roots and
branches and training branches by tying them to wire. some of these trees are very
old and perfect miniatures, and even producing tiny cones and flowers.Bonsai plants are known to be a great stress
reliever.It relaxes one's breathing and many take growing it
as a wonderful hobby. Bonsai plants will make you patient and physically
active, as it requires proper care, watering, fertilizing and trimming.Bonsai trees, if well kept, can become very
old. Some of the oldest Bonsai in the world are
over 800 years; the result of many generations of patience and hard work.
Bonsai need about 5 hours of direct or indirect
sunlight per day. Certain species of bonsai do best in the winter if they
receive most of their light from indirect sources. Bonsai trees can burn if
taken from a shady location to a sunny location so care should be taken to
gradually increase their light exposure. Bonsai trees are popular in the Eastern art of Feng
Shui where they are believed to bring luck and abundance to those who display
them in their home. Bonsai trees that are acquired as a gift are considered
luckier than those that are purchased directly.
